Splintr.com started in August 2006 and is the first and original online independent music channel here in the Philippines. The thrust was and is to create a venue for independent music artists in the country. The idea was and remains to be the promotion of independence, individuality and talent through music. We knew we had a simple yet groundbreaking idea to give the artist's with no venue a place to showcase their talent, something that could be accessed on demand. We wanted to capture the way they wowed us in a gig or concert and keep the footage somewhere accessible for all to see and enjoy. We started by professionally recording these gigs and events using team and equipment that were well-honed in commercial film-making. From this, the idea to produce not just live events, but exclusive live studio recordings came about -- the Splintr Sessions. We’ve already come a long way, from our first video shoot of the kings of rock RAZORBACK on their 16th anniversary at Gweilo's Libis AND the groundbreaking ALIVE 2007 concert in Music Museum with rock legends WOLFGANG and RAZORBACK, all the way to our signature SPLINTR SESSIONS, a first in the Phillippines. Splintr Sessions is a private audio & video recording of the artists performing live in a studio and these videos we then edit exclusively for free streaming on the site. Our Splintr Sessions are directed and edited by our very own Milos Curameng, an award-winning MTV director whose genius has given Splintr a true mark of distinctiveness and an unmistakable quality. Because of this and our ever-growing visionary plans for the future, SPLINTR.COM will always remain at the forefront of independent music, showcasing the best of the best in the independent pinoy or Philippine music scene through video, music, events, and edgy programming. This is Splintr TV. From the first website to the one you are currently viewing, we are definitely inspired and continue to work towards giving the fans and the artists something unique. The newly revamped Splintr.com is bigger and better than ever and focuses more on the video-watching experience, simulating how we watch TV. We have endeavored to keep it clean and efficient to allow you no fuss as you watch your favorite artists rock it out. Our commitment is 24/7 of non-stop music video in sessions format and TV programming on the web, at your beck and call, or you may choose to simply sit back and watch the programs we have pre-loaded for you.
