The Three Headed Four Legged Monster Tour is a production put together by musicians, pooling together three bands (not usually put together in the same lineup or mentioned in the same breath) and having them play long sets in four bars. This idea was spawned from both sides of the coin: both as audience and musician. Watching gigs, we find that the typical packed productions leave the acts we want to watch with sometimes three or four songs – hardly enough to satisfy. As musicians, we feel that the listeners get only a cursory taste of what we bring to the table. Long sets are usually reserved for pwesto gigs, difficult to come by, and often the crowds are rarely there to listen.
Through this production, which we intend to run throughout the year, several series of three bands in four bars, with unlikely mixes of bands, we hope to get musicians heard. We hope to give the audience more. We hope to get different crowds to listen to bands whose lineups they normally wouldn’t patronize.
