Slapshock was formed by five musicians on February 1997 in University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. They started as a rap-metal group which later developed to a more diverse rock band. Most of the early gigs were college sponsored events, fairs and also some club gigs like Club Dredd and Mayric’s which are the pinoneer rock clubs in Manila. Slapshock pioneered rap-metal genre here, delivering high intensity performances always giving their audiences not just entertainment but an experience worth remembering.
